Role Description

The E-Commerce Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day execution of online order fulfillment operations. This role ensures that all Shopify orders are processed accurately, packaged efficiently, and shipped on time. The coordinator manages the fulfillment floor, oversees packing workflows, prints bulk shipping labels, and serves as the primary liaison with carriers such as UPS.

Team Member Responsibilities & Duties

Order Processing & Fulfillment

  • Process daily Shopify orders, ensuring accuracy of items, quantities, and customer information.
  • Print bulk shipping labels and packing slips.
  • Organize orders by shipping method, priority, and fulfillment deadlines.
  • Monitor order queues to ensure same-day or next-day shipping targets are met.
  • Resolve order discrepancies, address changes, or fulfillment issues promptly.

Packaging & Floor Management

  • Manage the fulfillment floor to ensure orders are packaged accurately and on schedule.
  • Assign packing tasks and coordinate workflow among team members.
  • Verify packaging quality, labeling accuracy, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient packing area.
  • Troubleshoot bottlenecks and adjust staffing or processes as needed.

Shipping & Carrier Coordination

  • Coordinate daily UPS pickups and communicate shipment volumes.
  • Prepare bulk shipments and staging areas for carrier collection.
  • Track outgoing shipments and address delivery issues.
  • Maintain shipping logs and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with carrier requirements and packaging standards.

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Monitor packaging supply levels (boxes, poly bags, labels, inserts, tape).
  • Notify management when reordering is required.
  • Assist with cycle counts for finished goods inventory.
  • Ensure accurate product availability for online listings.

Customer & Administrative Support

  • Process returns, exchanges, or re-shipments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments and fulfillment performance.

Work Hours, Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time work schedule of up to 35 hours per week.
  • Must be available to work some weekends and start as early as 8am.
  • Starting wage: $20 - $23 per hour (based on experience) plus tips.
  • Paid vacation time and five additional paid holidays per year.
  • Paid end-of-year closing: In celebration of the incredible work done across all departments during the year, Dog Tag closes between Christmas and New Year.

Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in a bakery, food production, or packaging role is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
