General Responsibilities

  1. Adhere to USDA, Head Start, and local food sanitation and safety requirements.
  2. Maintain hygienic conditions and follow hand-washing procedures including wearing hair nets and gloves.
  3. Set up sanitized cloths for wiping dishes, tables, and carts.
  4. Maintain sanitation of work area, food carts, and serving utensils.
  5. Record food temperatures and report deviations to site supervisor and lead food associate.
  6. Assist in meal distribution, disposing of leftover food and monitor food service activities.
  7. Clean up following meals and snacks, and dispose of leftover food.
  8. Keep food and supply cabinets and service carts clean and in good order.
  9. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Some food handling experience.
  3. Current Food Sanitation Certification or must be acquired within 6 months of employment.
  4. Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Teams).
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Pass background clearance, physical, and TB test.
  8. Support the Codes of Ethics established by Catholic Charities USA, NASW, and APA.
  9. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance.
  10. Effective organizational skills.
