Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis for a period of 2–3 months. This on-site position in El Segundo, California, requires someone with strong attention to detail to manage a variety of accounting tasks, including payroll processing, journal entries, and audit support. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and be proficient in QuickBooks Online and Expensify.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist the controller with compiling and organizing financial data for internal use.
• Manage accounts payable processes, including vendor payments and reconciliations.
• Perform selective accounts receivable reconciliations to maintain accurate records.
• Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger with precision.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage asset schedules, including amortization and depreciation calculations.
• Process bi-weekly offshore payroll payments for 20–50 employees.
• Generate detailed expense reports to assist with budgeting and financial planning.• Proven experience in accounting, including AP, AR, payroll, and audit support.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Expensify is required.
• Strong understanding of corporate tax, including sales tax and tax return preparation.
• Demonstrated ability to create and record journal entries accurately.
• Familiarity with general ledger management and financial reconciliations.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Previous experience in contract or interim accounting roles is a plus.
