🚀 Position Overview
We are seeking a Technical Project Manager 2 (TPM 2) to support nuclear project execution within a DOE Hazard Category 2 facility at LANL.
This role is ideal for a hands-on project manager with DOE experience and strong EVMS/CAM exposure, capable of supporting project performance, process improvements, and execution of technical scope in a highly regulated environment.
You will be responsible for managing project deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risks, while supporting execution across engineering, construction, and operational activities.
🎯 What We’re Targeting (Top Candidate Profile)
- DOE / NNSA project experience in nuclear environments (CAT II preferred)
- Strong background in EVMS and Control Account Management (CAM)
- Experience supporting engineering, construction, or process improvement initiatives
- Ability to operate in high-compliance, NQA-1 environments
- Early-to-mid level TPM ready to grow into senior DOE project leadership
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Manage execution of technical and operational nuclear projects from planning through completion
- Define and track project scope, schedule, budget, and risks
- Support development and execution of work packages aligned to program objectives
- Drive process improvements to enhance project performance
- Support and execute EVMS processes and reporting (CAM-level activities)
- Interface with engineering, construction, procurement, and quality teams
- Ensure compliance with DOE, NNSA, and NQA-1 requirements
- Provide technical guidance and coordination across project teams
✅ Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Science, or related field
- 5+ years of DOE and/or nuclear project experience
- Demonstrated experience:
- Supporting projects in DOE or NRC nuclear facilities (CAT II preferred)
- Managing project scope, cost, and schedule performance
- Working in highly regulated environments with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q Clearance
🔥 Highly Desired (Will Set You Apart)
- EVMS certification (Humphreys & Associates or equivalent)
- Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
- PMP Certification
- Experience in:
- Engineering, construction, or procurement support
- Process improvement initiatives tied to project performance
- Strong background in:
- Quality Assurance / NQA-1 programs
- Issues management and regulatory compliance in nuclear environments
