Quality Manager – ISO 9001 | Manufacturing | Leadership Role
Location: Lino Lakes, MN (occasional travel to Milwaukee, WI)
Salary: $90,000–$120,000 + Annual Profit Sharing
Schedule: 4×9-hour days + 4-hour Friday (rare weekends)
Badger Magnetics, an industry leader in custom electromagnetic coils and transformers since 1955, is hiring a hands-on Quality Manager to build and lead our Quality Management System. This is a newly created role with direct influence on engineering, operations, and company-wide strategy.
If you want to own ISO 9001, improve systems from the ground up, and work where your voice actually matters, this is a rare opportunity inside a stable, growing, family-atmosphere manufacturer.
What You’ll Lead
- Own our ISO 9001 journey and prepare the company for certification by Q1 2027
- Lead internal audits, documentation, QMS implementation, and KPI development
- Drive quality improvements across both sites (primary site MN; 2x/year WI travel)
- Manage non-conformances and have authority to stop production when needed
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement CAPA with Engineering & Operations
- Oversee incoming inspection processes, supplier quality, and calibration systems
- Mentor the Milwaukee-based Quality Technician
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team (CEO, COO, CFO, Engineering)
Why This Role Is Different
✔ Newly created leadership role — not stepping into someone else’s system
✔ You report directly to the CEO — your recommendations are acted on quickly
✔ No bureaucratic red tape — small team (<50 employees) with fast decision cycles
✔ High impact — you’ll build systems, improve processes, and shape culture
✔ Stable 70-year company with steady annual growth
✔ Family-like environment — people help each other; no “not my job” mindset
✔ Generous profit sharing — last two years ≈ three weeks of pay
What You’ll Bring
- 5–10 years of Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong ISO 9001 experience (implementation or management)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and work closely with technical teams
- Hands-on leadership, floor presence (~25% of time)
- Experience with audits, CAPA, supplier quality, and continuous improvement
- Lean, Six Sigma, or ASQ certifications preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $90K–$120K DOE
- Annual profit sharing (historically very strong)
- Medical, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays
- 401(k) with 3.5% company match on 6% employee contribution
- Family-friendly schedule (4×9 + 4-hour Friday)
- Relocation possible for the right candidate
