Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a difference this upcoming school year as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in grades 9-12. This full-time contract opportunity (35 hours a week) runs from August 24th through the end of the school year and offers a chance to work in an inclusive setting alongside a dedicated educational team.
You’ll take on an impactful advisory role, leading an advisory class and providing targeted academic support for up to four periods daily. As an advisor, you will help guide students through their high school journey and foster a supportive learning environment where every individual can reach their full potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with Special Education endorsement
- Previous experience working with high school-aged students, preferably in inclusive environments
- Strong understanding of IEP implementation, differentiation, and accommodating diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Organizational skills to manage advisory responsibilities and small group instruction
Your Role:
- Serve as advisor by planning and facilitating advisory classes that support students’ academic and personal growth
- Provide academic support and accommodations in general education settings for four periods each day
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, document progress, and communicate effectively with families and team members
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth, resilience, and self-advocacy
