Position Summary: The Kinship Support Worker provides assistance to the Kinship Care Coordinator to ensure children in foster care have permanent and safe connections in their lives.
Location: Hiawatha
Education: High School diploma or GED
Experience: Requires Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as Outlook email
Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
Essential Duties:

Scan and file documents into Laserfiche or green books, including:
-
Initial and annual home study documents
-
Background checks
-
Accurint search results/letters (sent and returned)

Genograms and other supporting documents
-

Complete and process New Provider Forms in the system
-
Accurately enter and update family structure information in the KVC CARE system
-
Conduct fingerprinting for potential relative or non-related kin placements
-
Perform online searches for family members and connections using Accurint, search engines, and social media
-
Communicate with potential relatives/non-related kin through email, phone, and mail
-
Assist relatives with accessing needed resources such as beds, car seats, safety equipment, and other child care essentials

Create and maintain Kinship Relative Home Binders and folders, ensuring they include current information (Kinship Handbook, KVC contacts, resources, financial assistance,
