Job Description

As a Service Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on rental equipment in the field, ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain rental equipment, including water pumps, generators, concrete finishing trowels, saws, power buggies, wood chippers, trenchers, light towers, mini loaders, air compressors, heaters, ground thaw equipment, air conditioners, and compaction equipment.
  • Investigate and diagnose equipment faults and failures, recommending repair solutions.
  • Perform light repairs on both rental and customer-owned equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly shop environment.
  • Pressure wash equipment, check for proper and safe operation, service equipment, and prepare repair estimate write-ups.
  • Handle phone calls from customers with rented equipment.
  • Assist in loading and unloading rental equipment.
  • Process rental contracts and invoices.
  • Perform simple maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the rental fleet.
  • Respond to outside rental service calls as needed.
  • Provide light customer service repairs and resolve rental disputes promptly.
  • Ensure product availability and maintain equipment to encourage rentals.
  • Maintain the wash bay and yard in a neat, clean, and organized manner.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge in electrical DC and control systems, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical control systems.
  • Experience with ignition and fuel systems, small engine repairs, diesel engine issues, and midsized construction equipment repairs.
  • Competence in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of various equipment.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of small engine knowledge and mechanical ability is desired.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of 50-75 lbs.
  • Courteous and professional customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to insurance carriers.
  • Ability to read and understand parts diagrams and schematics.
  • Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a heated and ventilated shop, with occasional outdoor work on construction sites in various weather conditions. Enjoy a small company culture with support from other locations. Work hours are typically 8am - 5pm or 7am - 4pm, Monday to Friday, with potential after-hours service calls. Company provides uniforms and tools, though having personal tools is appreciated.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mcfarland, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $56160.00/yr.
