Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Oakland, CA, specifically serving students within a transitional kindergarten program. This contract position offers an onsite work environment with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week, continuing through June 11th, 2026, with the potential for a nonschool year (NSY) fill as well.
Key qualifications and requirements include:
- Bachelors Degree in Education or related field
- Valid California CTC Education Specialist Instruction Credential
- Experience working with Special Education populations, preferably in early childhood or transitional kindergarten settings
- Ability to manage and adapt to caseloads that may be partially determined upon assignment
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with school staff, families, and support personnel
- Commitment to providing inclusive and individualized educational support to students with diverse needs
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning goals
- Delivering specialized instruction that fosters developmental growth in cognitive, social, and emotional domains
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to support the holistic needs of students
- Maintaining required records and documentation in compliance with district and state regulations
- Participating in ongoing professional development and team meetings
This role is based onsite in Oakland, providing direct engagement with students and staff within the school environment. Virtual support options are not available for this position.
