Job Description

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lakeway
Address: 100 Medical Pkwy, Lakeway, TX (Suburb of Austin, TX)

Work Schedule: Hours: Mon- Fri (8 hr. day)

Hours: Mon- Fri (8-hour day)

  • Major holidays off
  • No weekends
  • Rotate e/o Minor holiday

Must live within a reasonable driving distance since you will be spending days at Lakeway (Home base) and then could travel to other BSWH facilities in the region

BSN is preferred but not required

WOCN or WOCC Certified is preferred:
Could consider Wound care exp: RN works with the Team for 6 months to prepare the RN before starting Wound Care certification classes

Job Summary

The Wound Care Registered Nurse assesses patients, establishes diagnoses, and creates healthcare plans. They observe and evaluate patient responses. This role ensures patient safety by understanding needs and assisting with encounters.

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Conduct clinical assessments maintaining the highest standard of practice.
  • Be proactive in designing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans.
  • Take part in initiatives to improve quality and performance.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with both patient and family.
  • Engage in collaborative and mutual work with colleagues and the community.

  • You need a good understanding of nursing standards and patient care.
  • Understanding legal and ethical considerations is important for success.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • You must be a problem solver who can quickly detect and react to changes in patients.
  • You will also need to know how to use computers and medical software.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an associates degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Holding an effective Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Must have Basic Life Support certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting the job.
