Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is sought for an elementary school setting in Land O Lakes, FL, to provide specialized services for students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. This role involves working with a diverse caseload of approximately 75-80 students, primarily in high-needs behavior cluster schools, with an emphasis on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
Assignment Details:
- Duration: August 4, 2025 May 29, 2026
- Contract Type: School Year (NSY)
- Positions Available: One full-term position (August May) One maternity leave coverage position (September May)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for elementary students.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans using AAC devices and other communication modalities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support each students communication goals.
- Monitor and document student progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as needed.
- Support the behavioral needs of students within cluster classrooms by integrating communication strategies effectively.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP - CCC) required.
- SLP certification specifically for school settings is mandatory.
- Experience working with high-needs elementary populations, especially with behavior clusters, strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in AAC technology and strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
