About Real Dads Network

Real Dads Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families by empowering fathers. For over 20 years, we’ve been a national leader in uplifting the image and impact of Black and Brown fathers through cultural programs, educational workshops, public events, and direct support services. From Real Dads Week to Colon Cancer Awareness campaigns, from CPR training to school engagement journals, our work centers fathers as vital pillars of community transformation.

As we expand our programming, we are seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Fatherhood Program Director to lead and grow our city-funded fatherhood initiatives—anchored in our Fatherhood and Family Center in East Harlem.

  • Oversee daily operations of fatherhood programming: intake, case management, parenting groups, life skills, employment support, and family events.
  • Ensure compliance with all NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) contractual obligations and performance benchmarks.
  • Conduct assessments and provide crisis intervention strategies to address immediate needs of families in distress.

  • Represent Real Dads Network at city coalitions, community boards, and fatherhood events.
  • Lead outreach efforts to engage fathers—especially non-custodial, justice-involved, and low-income dads—across Manhattan and surrounding boroughs.

Administrative, Fiscal, and Strategic Planning

  • Monitor program budgets, stipends, and invoices to ensure timely and accurate fiscal management.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and reporting requirements related to family services.
  • Contribute to organizational strategic planning, including expansion of reentry support, court navigation, and trauma-informed initiatives.
