CNC Mill Programmer | Kentwood, MI
Salary Range: $57,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Create and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling machines.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and machining parameters for various materials.
- Develop efficient machining strategies, sequences, and process plans.
- Simulate and verify CNC programs using CAM software to prevent collisions and optimize cycle times.
- Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues on the shop floor.
- Generate and maintain accurate setup sheets, tooling lists, and program documentation.
- Collaborate with design engineers, machinists, and quality personnel to ensure manufacturability and quality standards.
Recommended Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in CNC mill programming and setup.
- Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
- Strong ability to interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and apply GD&T.
- In-depth knowledge of G-code and M-code programming and editing.
- Understanding of cutting tools, workholding, and machining various materials.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with 5-axis CNC programming.
- Proficiency in advanced simulation software (e.g., Vericut, NCSIMUL).
- Experience with fixture design or advanced workholding strategies.
- Knowledge of post-processor development or editing.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
