Salary Range: $57,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling machines.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and machining parameters for various materials.
  • Develop efficient machining strategies, sequences, and process plans.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs using CAM software to prevent collisions and optimize cycle times.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues on the shop floor.
  • Generate and maintain accurate setup sheets, tooling lists, and program documentation.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, machinists, and quality personnel to ensure manufacturability and quality standards.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in CNC mill programming and setup.
  • Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and apply GD&T.
  • In-depth knowledge of G-code and M-code programming and editing.
  • Understanding of cutting tools, workholding, and machining various materials.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with 5-axis CNC programming.
  • Proficiency in advanced simulation software (e.g., Vericut, NCSIMUL).
  • Experience with fixture design or advanced workholding strategies.
  • Knowledge of post-processor development or editing.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
