OVERVIEW
We are seeking a practical, hands-on Head of Quality to lead quality operations within a high-volume food manufacturing environment. This role has full ownership of product quality, food safety programs, and quality systems across the site and plays a critical role in protecting customers, brands, and operations.
This position is ideal for a quality leader with deep experience in food or ingredient manufacturing who can set standards, enforce consistency, and work closely with production to drive continuous improvement without slowing the business down.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead all Quality and food safety functions, including in-process checks, finished product release, and quality documentation
Own and maintain site quality systems, SOPs, specifications, and records
Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and customer requirements
Serve as the primary site lead for quality issues, decisions, and escalations
Oversee internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections
Manage non-conformances, holds, complaints, and corrective actions
Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to embed quality into daily production
Track and report KPIs related to quality, food safety, and plant performance
Lead, coach, and develop QC, sanitation, and quality staff
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on consistency, waste reduction, and risk prevention
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical field
7+ years of progressive quality leadership experience within food manufacturing
Strong working knowledge of food safety programs and quality systems
Experience leading audits and managing regulatory and customer interactions
Proven ability to lead teams and influence production and plant leadership
Detail-oriented, decisive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced plant setting
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
High-volume or continuous manufacturing environments
Oversight of sanitation, HACCP, preventive controls, or GFSI programs
Experience improving or scaling plant-level quality systems
Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
