Job Title: Diagnostic Technician
Location: Hyannis, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 36 hours/week
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend and holiday required
Position Overview
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technician to support patient care through specimen collection and non-invasive cardiac testing. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood and other specimens and transport them to the laboratory
- Properly identify patients and ensure accurate specimen labeling
- Educate patients on specimen collection procedures
- Perform non-invasive cardiology testing including EKGs, Holter monitors, and stress tests
- Ensure all required laboratory forms and documentation are completed accurately
- Research and verify unusual test requests using available resources
- Maintain accurate records in hospital systems and department logs
- Complete cardiac testing orders and billing documentation as required
- Follow all safety, infection control, and facility protocols
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Phlebotomy Certification (PBT) required
- EKG Certification required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in specimen collection and cardiac testing preferred
- Acute care hospital experience preferred
