Start your day in Foxboro, MA, meeting with the Service Manager or Project Manager to review the plan. By mid-morning, you might be commissioning a building automation system (BAS) at a commercial site; in the afternoon, you could be programming thermostats and sensors for a residential retrofit. What You’ll Do
- Install, program, calibrate, and troubleshoot controls: thermostats, sensors, actuators, and full BAS platforms.
- Perform system testing, start-up, and commissioning to confirm performance and sequence of operations.
- Diagnose issues with controls hardware, electrical wiring, and integrations between HVAC equipment and BAS.
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and OEM manuals to execute installs and service.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to keep projects on schedule.
- Maintain precise records of installations, service calls, configurations, and updates.
- Train end users so they can confidently operate and optimize their control systems.
- Work safely and in accordance with company policies, codes, and industry best practices.
- Stay current with emerging HVAC controls technologies, tools, and standards.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or trade school in HVAC, Electrical, or Controls preferred.
- 2+ years in HVAC controls installation, programming, or service (BAS experience strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with DDC/PLCs and open protocols like BACnet and Modbus.
- Expert troubleshooting skills and the ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documents.
- Comfort with hand tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
- Clear communicator who works well independently and with a team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
