Educational Focus

Core Teaching Responsibilities

  • Create visually engaging and accessible curriculum presentations
  • Implement differentiated instruction based on individual munication needs
  • Coordinate with audiologists and other hearing professionals
  • Support language development across multiple modalities
  • Facilitate peer interactions and social skill development
  • Engage families in educational planning and home support strategies
  • Document student progress and maintain special education pliance

Credential Requirements

  • Master's degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education or related field
  • Valid Michigan DHH teaching certification or endorsement
  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience with deaf and hard of hearing students
  • American Sign Language skills highly valued
  • Knowledge of hearing assistive technology and munication devices
  • Strong virtual teaching platform proficiency
