Job Description:
- The Associate Manufacturing Engineer will design new, modified, or improved components/process tooling in accordance with engineering standards and project scope of work.
- This role will be an entry level role within the operations engineering organization to gain knowledge and skills in providing engineering support to various manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Client's engineering standards and processes.
- Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plants, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
- Work on projects with limited complexity in a support role.
- Prepare vehicle layouts and component part drawings with supporting calculations (i.e. weight distribution etc.).
- Select parts and/or design components for cost and quality-consciousness.
- Follow project on the assembly floor or through prototype build when instructed by supervisor and render assistance as necessary.
- Generate bills of material and assembly drawings as required by the project.
- Adhere to time schedules.
- Utilize engineering tools (CAD) equipment in assigned projects.
Requirements:
- Experience with CAD modeling software, 3D
- Familiarity with mechanical designing
- Familiarity with applying material science within a design
- Strong mechanical background.
- Manufacturing facility exposure.
Preferred:
- Internship in a relevant engineering space.
- Knowledge of equipment manufacturing industry or automobile industry.
- Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma tools.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite; including a strong emphasis on Excel.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred) or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
