Position Overview

Our organization is in search of an enthusiastic clinician-leader to take on the role of Medical Director of Neurology, guiding the ongoing development, strategic vision, and clinical excellence of our Neurology program. The Site Medical Director (SMD) for Neurology will primarily collaborate with the Service Line Chief, Practice Manager, and Division Director to provide clinical and professional insights related to their specialty. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer of the Medical Group and working alongside the administrative Division Director, this role shares responsibility for managing both clinical and administrative functions within Neurology. Key accountabilities include ensuring high standards of clinical quality, patient safety, patient satisfaction, clinician and staff engagement, productivity, revenue growth, managed care performance, recruitment, and maintaining adequate patient access, as well as overseeing program development and accreditation. Together with the Practice Manager, the SMD will also be responsible for achieving practice performance goals and metrics while providing leadership to both clinicians and staff. The SMD will receive substantial support from the practice manager and other members of the administrative team.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Administration (20%)

  • Work with the Practice Manager to manage daily clinical operations and practice performance.
  • Provide physician leadership to enhance:
    • Clinical quality and patient safety
    • Patient satisfaction and experience
    • Engagement of clinicians and staff
    • Productivity and operational efficiency
  • Support the growth of the program, service line expansion, and accreditation initiatives.
  • Drive improvements in:
    • Revenue cycle and financial performance
    • Managed care outcomes
    • Patient access and throughput
  • Engage in physician recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish and meet performance goals, metrics, and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison among physicians, administration, and health system leadership.

Clinical Responsibilities (80%)

  • Provide comprehensive Neurology care in both outpatient and inpatient environments.
  • Uphold high standards of evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary care across the neurosciences service line.

Contribute to the development of subspecialty programs and clinical innovations.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Neurology.
  • Valid, unrestricted medical license in Florida (or eligibility for one).
  • Eligibility for medical staff privileges at the affiliated hospital.
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Neurology.
  • Previous leadership experience is required.
