JOB TITLE: Delivery Assistant
DEPARTMENT: 2023 – Transportation - Helpers
REPORT TO: Transportation Manager
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Edwardsville, KS (Onsite)
JOB OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for assisting the Driver in every aspect of product delivery to customer restaurants on Unassisted Delivery in an efficient and safe manner in following all company procedures and best practices as outlined in the Unassisted Delivery Manual. The Driver Helper directly impacts the business through their attention to safety, detail, and customer service skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Unload products at customer locations and place in appropriate temperature zones, as directed by customer/driver, specifically freezer, cooler or dry storage.
- Rotate freezer and cooler products by date (First In/First Out), place products in the correct distance from the wall and elevation to ensure air flow and products placed in correct locations according to the “Be Well Stocked” policies.
- Take photos of product in place on arrival in the freezer and cooler before rotating. Take photos of freezer and cooler products upon completion of each delivery.
- Proper use of delivery equipment such as ramps, straps, hand truck, roller, etc. to ensure safety and zero damage to restaurant physical structure, restaurant equipment and Earp Distribution equipment.
- Complete delivery documentation according to company procedure to ensure timely processing of credits, shorts, etc.
- Act a spotter for the delivery Driver when parking or leaving client locations.
KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Zero Damage to restaurant building, equipment and product. Zero damage to Earp Distribution Equipment.
- 100% achievement of proper rotation for every delivery and documented with photos.
- Delivery documentation completed and any variance communicated to Dispatch.
- On Time Delivery.
Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS
- Warehouse experience is helpful.
- Have strong communication skills with ability to communicate with management team, drivers, helpers, and customers.
- Be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Be able to operate a camera.
- Lift from 1 to 100 lb. boxes repeatedly throughout day.
