Your Role: Float RN
As a Float Pool RN, you will deliver direct, patient-centered nursing care across multiple departmentsadapting quickly to meet patient needs wherever help is needed most. You are essential in ensuring high-quality care for a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends
- Deliver direct nursing care based on assessments, diagnoses, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications safely using electronic health records and scanning procedures
- Assist physicians during examinations and treatments
- Monitor patient status, documenting changes and reporting as needed
- Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments for all age groups
- Maintain safe, clean, and infection-controlled environments
- Prioritize care and use critical thinking in emergency and high-stress situations
- Float between departments as needed, supporting all areas equally
- Participate in orientation, mentoring, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain competency in all assigned float departments
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification (obtained during orientation)
- PALS Certification (obtained within 3 months)
- Recent experience in medical-surgical, emergency, or critical care
