Step into a dynamic school-based Occupational Therapy role in the Long Beach, CA area, supporting diverse K-12 caseloads for the upcoming academic year. This full-time, on-site contract runs from August 11, 2026 through June 4, 2027. Assignments may vary, with opportunities to work in both single-site and itinerant capacities across multiple campuses.
Your expertise as a California-licensed Occupational Therapist will enhance student outcomes and foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment. Desired Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license issued by the state of California
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Previous experience or fieldwork within a K-12 school or related setting
- Understanding of the Special Education process, educational terminology, and standardized assessments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to varying assignments and caseloads
- Comfort working independently and managing multiple priorities
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with CDE OT/PT guidelines (resource provided for interview preparation)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy evaluation and intervention to students ages K-12
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and family members to develop comprehensive IEP goals
- Conduct standardized assessments and maintain detailed documentation as required
- Support students’ motor, sensory, and functional participation in educational activities
- Adapt therapeutic approaches based on each student’s unique needs and IEP requirements
- Travel between assigned schools as needed for itinerant roles
