Medical Coder
Location: Mesa, AZ (On-Site | NOT Remote)
Position Type: Full-Time | Permanent Direct Hire
Pay Range: $20–$24/hour (based on experience)
A leading Medical Accounts Receivable Management organization in Mesa, AZ is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Coder to join their Operations team. This is a full-time, permanent direct hire opportunity with excellent benefits, stable hours, and long-term growth potential.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- On-site | 40 hours per week
- 1-hour lunch

Job Responsibilities
- Review complete medical records to accurately assign ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- Ensure codes meet medical necessity and follow proper sequencing standards.
- Work within the practice management and billing systems to submit accurate documentation.
- Apply strong knowledge of Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding.
- Code within at least one specialty:

- Cardiology
- Anesthesia
- OB-GYN
- Surgery
- Identify and avoid up-coding and down-coding issues.
- Support billing and revenue cycle needs through accurate, compliant coding.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of U.S. healthcare coding & billing experience.
- CPC Certification required.
- Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 guidelines.
- Ability to extract accurate codes from complete medical records.
- Understanding of compliance, sequencing rules, and payer expectations.
Preferred Profile
- Knowledge of insurance plans (HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers).
- Strong communication skills, especially when resolving coding or billing issues with insurance payers.
- Customer service experience interacting with patients and families.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical billing processes.
- Willingness to go the extra mile to support project deliverables.
