Nurse Manager of Surgical Services

Location: Sanford, FL

Type: Full-Time

Pay: $38.72/hr – $58.08/hr

Shift & Schedule: Days | Rotating Weekends

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to oversee the daily operations of the Operating Room, Cardiovascular OR (CVOR), Anesthesia, and Sterile Processing Departments. This leadership role is responsible for operational efficiency, quality improvement, staff development, regulatory compliance, physician relations, and patient satisfaction within a high-acuity surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Main OR, CVOR, Anesthesia, and Sterile Processing Departments.

• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and surgical workflow management.

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and operational performance.

• Support recruitment, onboarding, staff development, and performance management initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.

• Monitor departmental productivity, staffing utilization, and resource allocation.

• Manage medical supply utilization, equipment maintenance, and operational budgets.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance enhancement projects.

• Promote patient safety, physician satisfaction, and employee engagement.

• Analyze operational data and implement process improvement strategies.

Required Qualifications

• Active Florida RN License or Compact RN License.

• Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room RN experience in an acute care setting.

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care OR leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator, Supervisor, or Manager.

• Strong knowledge of perioperative operations and surgical services management.

• Ability to obtain BCLS within 30 days of hire.

• Ability to obtain ACLS and PALS/ENPC within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• CNOR Certification.

• Experience in Level II Trauma Centers.

• Experience supporting CVOR, robotics, anesthesia, and sterile processing operations.

• Strong leadership, physician relations, and staff development experience.
