The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial records, with a strong focus on managing the Profit & Loss (P& L) statement, Balance Sheet, and month‑end close activities. This role provides critical financial analysis, supports leadership with forecasting and budgeting, and ensures compliance with accounting principles and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Oversee preparation, review, and analysis of the P& L statement and Balance Sheet on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Perform detailed variance analysis and provide meaningful insights to management.
- Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Ensure proper classification and accuracy of revenue, expenses, and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
General Ledger Management
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct periodic audits of internal processes to strengthen accounting controls.
- Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support annual budgeting and ongoing financial forecasting processes.
- Partner with department leaders to track spending and identify financial trends.
- Provide insights into operational performance and recommend improvements.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, finance, and leadership teams to provide financial support.
- Communicate financial results and insights in a clear and actionable manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong experience managing P& L and Balance Sheet oversight.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with accounting systems
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v‑lookup, complex formulas).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
