Job Description

Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technician – CWR

Location: Edison, NJ

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

On-Call: Required (1–2 shifts per week; weekends and holidays as needed)

Department: Interventional Radiology (supporting both body and neuro procedures)

Facility Includes: 3 IR suites (2 biplanes, 1 single plane) and a 9-bay recovery room


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of prior experience as a licensed Radiologic Technologist
  • At least 1–2 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
  • Strong familiarity with interventional equipment and procedural workflow
  • Ability to think critically and respond in high-pressure situations
  • Experience using Epic for electronic medical documentation
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills


Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program


Certifications & Licensure:

  • Valid New Jersey Radiologic Technologist License
  • ARRT Certification in Radiology or Vascular Interventional Radiology


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in both body and neuro-interventional procedures
  • Familiarity with biplane imaging systems


Additional Details:

  • Weekend Coverage: On-call only
  • Holiday Coverage: As needed
  • On-Call Requirements: 1–2 shifts per week
  • Float Requirement: None


Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technician (CWR) to assist proceduralists in complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and body procedures. This is a contract role in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting a multidisciplinary team that includes radiologists, nurses, and vascular surgeons.


Key Responsibilities:

Assist proceduralists by scrubbing in during advanced diagnostic and interventional vascular procedures

Support post-intervention groin management

Collaborate closely with nurses, radiologists, and surgeons to ensure smooth procedural workflows

Operate and maintain floor- and ceiling-mounted fluoroscopy equipment

Retrieve, prepare, and circulate specialized products required during procedures

Operate power injectors for iodinated contrast media

Maintain sterile fields and enforce infection control procedures during tray setups

Document procedures in electronic medical records (EMR) and transmit imaging via Sectra/PACS systems

Communicate effectively using closed-loop communication techniques

Provide high-quality patient care in a demanding clinical environment
