Job DescriptionSalary:

Vacancy: Health & Safety (H&S) Specialist - 2 openings

Location: South Carolina and Houston, TX. Both with flexibility to travel.


We are a leading engineering company looking for a professional to join our team as a H&S Specialist In this position, you will be responsible for implementing improvements in safety of the assembly processes, as well as reducing the negative impact of circumstances that affect the processes. Also design and development of methods for production improvements.


Main Responsibilities:

1. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA and local safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date procedures and records to meet OSHA standards.

2. Training and Communication:

  • Deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors in both English and Spanish.
  • Effectively communicate safety policies to diverse, multicultural teams.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings.

3. Risk Management:

  • Perform risk assessments and job safety analyses (JSAs) to identify potential hazards.
  • Implement corrective measures to mitigate identified risks.

4. Emergency Management:

  • Coordinate emergency drills and response plans.
  • Provide support in first aid and CPR/AED during emergencies.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare incident, accident, and safety audit reports.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat to document procedures, reports, and compliance records.

6. Client Interaction:

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding safety protocols and compliance during project execution.

7. Team Leadership:

  • Lead and train multicultural groups, including Mexican, Spanish, American, and Chinese team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive safety culture among diverse teams.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the automotive sector or related industries preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or related Degree
  • Must be AED/CPR First Aid certified
  • Knowledge in OSHA Courses - OSHA 30 in Construction.
  • Fluency in English. Spanish is a plus.
  • Availability to travel for projects outside of Texas. Relocation support would be provided.
