Summary/Objective

The Carpenter makes all manner of repairs to the buildings: frames, form and finishes affecting any structural or other repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Functions

Demolishes, moves and constructs walls, ceilings, roofs, and any other building structures according to applicable building codes.
•Installs and repairs windows and doors, including framing and hardware.
•Installs flooring materials, including hardwood, tile and pavers.
•Repair or replace trusses, joists, sheeting, and covers roofs with shingles, asphalt, tar, or other materials as needed.
•Performs masonry repairs to buildings, which would include estimating materials, mixing mortar, laying brick, and tuck-pointing.
•Paints building and equipment.
•Works on occasion as a mechanic or a welder’s helper.
•Performs all required pre-and-post visual and check-list type inspections on equipment.
•The Carpenter is required to keep all areas of work neat and orderly throughout the workday, to promote a safe working environment. The Carpenter is responsible for making sure all tools, supplies, and equipment are returned to their proper place after completing their job.

Qualifications
•Education: High School graduate or GED and successfully completed a four-year carpenter’s apprenticeship program and is familiar with applicable building codes so repairs are up to standard.
•Language Skills: Must speak, read and understand instructions in the English language.
•Mathematical Skills: Must have intermediate math skills.

•Understanding blueprints and drawings.
•Must participate in forklift and aerial lift training and obtain forklift certification.
Physical Demands

Walking, sitting, standing, bending, moving continually, ability to do aerial work, and occasional heavy lifting are required.
Primary Tools/Equipment: All hand and power tools, material handling equipment, aerial lifts, forklift and/or any other tool(s) required depending on the task.
Expected Hours of Work

The Carpenter is expected to work full-time, as scheduled. Daily and weekend overtime will be required when circumstances demand it. In the event of an emergency, the Carpenter maybe called in during off hours to maintain workflow.

Safety & Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The Carpenter is required to abide by all safe operational procedures, rules, and PPE requirements integrated into H. Kramer and Co.’s working environment.
