Job Description: We are seeking a highly organized and creative Design & Purchasing Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role is essential to both the visual and operational success of our residential development projects. You’ll be responsible for developing interior design concepts and specifications, as well as managing the sourcing and procurement of all materials, finishes, and fixtures.
The ideal candidate combines a strong design sensibility with excellent logistical and negotiation skills. You’ll collaborate closely with senior management, subcontractors, and vendors to bring our residential projects to life—on time, on budget, and to the highest design standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Interior Design · Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute the design vision across multiple residential projects· Develop design concepts, mood boards and material palettes· Prepare and present layout plans, color schemes, and finish schedules for approval· Ensure that selected materials meet project budgets, timelines, and quality standards· Conduct job site visits to confirm design implementation and resolve issues as needed· Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design-related questions or changes· Research interior trends and innovative materials aligned with real estate market demands and project goals· Provide creative direction and mentorship to the design team, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely execution Purchasing & Logistics
- Source and procure materials, finishes, and furnishings per project specifications
- Issue and track purchase orders; reconcile with deliveries and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain vendor and supplier relationships; negotiate pricing and terms
- Monitor inventory levels and lead times to avoid construction delays
- Support budget tracking and reporting alongside project managers
- Coordinate with senior manager and ensure timely delivery of all materials to the appropriate job sites, avoiding any impact on construction or design schedule
- Oversee permit applications, utility service applications, and compliance documentation as needed
Qualifications:
- Certification or bachelor’s degree in interior design, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in residential design and/or construction purchasing
- Knowledge of building materials and interior finish products
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency and experience with design such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, and project management software such as Procore
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work, multi-task, and to work under time constraints
