Job Description

Who We Are

In an increasingly complex world where people are starving for someone they can trust, we stand for something simple: always put the client first. We do well by doing good for those we serve. It’s the ultimate measure. We believe in providing value beyond a doubt and in the notion that time will either expose you or promote you, based on your willingness to embrace change.

We serve financial advisors and investors through three entities, each headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska: Carson Wealth, Carson Coaching and Carson Partners. We provide coaching and partnership services to advisor firms – and straightforward financial advice to the investing public. We all share a common mission to be the most trusted in financial advice.

Who We Want

Deliver advanced tax and financial planning for high-net-worth clients. Partner with advisors and specialists to design proactive strategies that integrate tax, financial, and estate considerations. Lead technical planning, educate stakeholders, and support client retention and growth in a dynamic, high-visibility environment.

What To Expect

  • Holistic Financial & Tax Planning: Partner with advisors to create integrated plans that align tax, investment, cash-flow, and estate objectives. Design and implement strategies for business owners, executives, and multi-generational families. Monitor tax law changes and translate implications into actionable recommendations. Conduct targeted research on evolving tax rules and planning topics.
  • Client Engagement & Business Development: Identify tax opportunities for prospective clients and demonstrate the firm’s value proposition. Strengthen retention through clear communication, timely insights, and measurable outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with clients and wealth advisors to deliver cohesive client experiences. Communicate complex concepts in clear, relatable terms to clients and colleagues.
  • Operational Excellence: Prioritize effectively in a fast-changing environment. Balance work across existing clients and prospects while ensuring timely execution of deliverables and updates.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field required.
  • Master of Science in Taxation or equivalent advanced tax degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of tax planning experience required, ideally within wealth management, a family office, or public accounting.
  • Minimum of one year of financial planning experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success advising high-net-worth clients on complex tax matters required.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences required.
  • Strong collaboration skills with flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities required.
  • Proven ability to contribute to business development through consultative conversations and planning insights preferred.
