Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. In this role, you will manage essential financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy of financial records, interact with vendors and customers, and contribute to maintaining a balanced general ledger.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including verifying and posting transactions.
• Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and process checks in a timely manner.
• Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account data.
• Collaborate with vendors and customers through regular communication to address issues and maintain relationships.
• Oversee financial transactions by establishing and maintaining a chart of accounts and ensuring adherence to set policies.
• Generate invoices for accounts receivable, review incoming payments, and record deposits accurately.
• Monitor account balances and ensure proper entries are made to maintain accurate records.
• Resolve accounts payable issues and process employee expense reports efficiently.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and ensure all reconciliations are completed.
• Utilize accounting software, such as QuickBooks, for tracking and reporting financial data.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software such as Oracle, Sage, or Yardi.
• Strong experience with coding invoices and data entry.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and manage financial records with precision.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with vendors and team members.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred, but not needed
• Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and payroll procedures.
