Job Summary:
As a Physician, you will:
Independently perform a wide variety of clinical services, treating acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You will also select and utilize appropriate diagnostics and therapeutic procedures for patients.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited medical school required
Work Experience:
- 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required
- Minimum 18 months experience in an applicable practice setting required
- Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
- Active state medical licensure
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting
- Proficiency in applicable office procedures, including but not limited to suturing and splinting
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Strong listening skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Examining and treating patients
- Taking patients’ medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
- Educating and counseling patients
- Administering vaccinations and referring patients to additional care
- Supervising GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented for supervision
- Acting as a Collaborating Physician for up to four PA/NPs in the credentialing process
- Working an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift
- Performing all other duties as assigned
