Job Summary:

As a Physician, you will:

Independently perform a wide variety of clinical services, treating acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. You will also select and utilize appropriate diagnostics and therapeutic procedures for patients.

Job Requirements:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited medical school required

Work Experience:

  • 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required
  • Minimum 18 months experience in an applicable practice setting required
  • Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by an ABMS member board or AOA specialty board in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
  • Active state medical licensure

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting
  • Proficiency in applicable office procedures, including but not limited to suturing and splinting

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Strong listening skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Examining and treating patients
  • Taking patients’ medical histories
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
  • Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
  • Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
  • Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
  • Educating and counseling patients
  • Administering vaccinations and referring patients to additional care
  • Supervising GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented for supervision
  • Acting as a Collaborating Physician for up to four PA/NPs in the credentialing process
  • Working an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift
  • Performing all other duties as assigned
