CMM Programmer | Walker, MI
Salary Range: $55,000 - $87,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CMM programs for dimensional inspection of manufactured components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to determine appropriate measurement strategies.
- Select and configure CMM probes, fixtures, and accessories for accurate data collection.
- Perform first-article inspections and troubleshoot programming issues to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to define inspection requirements and improve processes.
- Maintain and calibrate CMM equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to quality standards.
- Document CMM programs, inspection reports, and operational procedures in accordance with company guidelines.
Recommended Qualifications
- Proficiency in PC-DMIS software for CMM programming.
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application.
- Experience with various CMM hardware platforms and probe systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and 3D models.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and validating CMM inspection programs.
- Knowledge of quality control processes and metrology best practices.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with multiple CMM software platforms (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS)
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools
- Ability to perform basic CMM maintenance and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of GD&T beyond basic application, including advanced interpretation and measurement strategies
- Experience training other technicians or inspectors on CMM operation
