Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Stress Engineer to join our Aerospace team in Richardson, TX. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis of aircraft structures and must be familiar with Boeing methodologies and tools. This role will involve classical hand calculations, interpreting engineering drawings, performing structural analyses on both metallic and composite structures, and preparing technical reports that establish compliance and safety. The candidate will also coordinate with cross-functional teams and participate in client meetings.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Perform static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis for aircraft structures using classical hand calculations.
· Conduct structural analyses of both metallic and composite primary/secondary aircraft structures.
· Apply Boeing Static and Book 1, 2, and 3 Fatigue Analysis Methodologies.
· Use Boeing stress tools such as IAS, XSA/SA+, FEADMS, IDTAS, Moss-Duberg, and FAMOSS.
· Analyze load paths and extract loads from finite element models.
· Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
· Conduct damage tolerance analysis and ensure compliance with CFR25.571.
· Determine critical failure modes and perform integrity checks.
· Generate comprehensive engineering stress reports.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design and Materials & Process Engineering.
· Participate in technical reviews and engage with customers to align on scope and methodology.
Must Haves:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
· 10 to 18 years of experience as a Stress Engineer in the Aerospace industry
· Strong understanding of stress analysis principles and aircraft structural integrity
· Apply Boeing Static and Book 1, 2, and 3 Fatigue Analysis Methodologies.
