Excavation Operator (Heavy Equipment Operator)
Pay: $28-$40+
Schedule: Day Shift
Location: Oregon City & Surrounding Areas
Company Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Excavation Operator to operate heavy equipment such as excavators for commercial and/or residential construction projects. The ideal candidate has experience in trenching, grading, utility work, and site preparation, with a strong understanding of job site safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate excavators and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and site preparation
• Dig around utilities with precision (water, sewer, electrical, etc.)
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
• Communicate with supervisors, spotters, and crew members
• Maintain clean and organized job sites
• Assist with general labor tasks as needed
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience operating excavators (more for commercial roles)
• Ability to operate equipment with precision and control
• Experience working around underground utilities
• Knowledge of grades, elevations, and site layout
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
• Ability to work in various weather and site conditions
• Strong work ethic and reliability
Preferred Experience:
• Commercial construction or civil/site development
• Pipe laying or utility installation
• GPS machine control systems (Topcon, Trimble, etc.)
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit, stand, and operate equipment for extended periods
• Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Work in outdoor environments including uneven terrain
Compensation:
• Pay: $28–$40+ per hour depending on experience
• Overtime available
