  1. Description of the Position

Responsible for accounts payable to the company, assisting the Chief Accountant with bookkeeping and reporting various finance-related transactions.


  1. Essential Responsibilities
  • Responsible for recording transactions in SAP and ensure adherence to GAAP / IFRS.
  • Responsible for Vendor / Supplier transactions.
  • Reconciliation of Vendor / Supplier subsidiary ledger versus general ledger.
  • Post or register incoming vendor / supplier invoices, employee reimbursements and company related obligations (debts).
  • Post or register incoming fixed assets invoices.
  • Process duty travel transactions i.e., advances and settlement.
  • Analyze and provide explanation on vendor / supplier disputes, queries or request for payment information.
  • Register invoices with discrepancies to the Invoice clarification tool including coordination with responsible process owners on corrective actions to take to resolve the discrepancies.
  • Process and issue Informative Returns
  • Support the General Accountants in executing payment runs in SAP.
  • Support the Chief Accountant in Federal/State and Puerto Rico financial reporting such as:
    • Annual State Report
    • Bureau of Economic Administration
    • PRIDCO / DDEC on Grant related compliance reporting
    • PRPA on Lease related compliance reporting
  • Support the General Accountants in the month end closing tasks.
  • Support the Chief Accountant in the preparation of deliverables / reports / supporting documents to the external Auditors.
  • Ad hoc analysis as may be assigned / requested by the Chief Accountant or Head of Business Services.

  • Comply and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, local and federal regulations.
  • Perform other tasks and projects, as requested.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance culture requirements.


  1. Education, Skills and Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant Finance and Accounting field
  • Minimum of 1 year job experience and/or experience related to business, finance and accounting besides the study with internships.
  • Experience in financial institution, invoicing process, budget & forecasting, asset management and customer service in an industry handling product.
  • Very good knowledge in MS Windows, Word, Excel, SAP skills (FI/CO-module) desirable
  • Good communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Very good analytical skills
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and spoken)
