Empowering Parents Kansas City is a leading nonprofit dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health services to children and families in our community. We have been voted "Best in Lee's Summit" for the past 3 years! We specialize in working with children who have experienced mental health issues that may include physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as children navigating family conflict. Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and family therapy for children and families.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on evidence-based practices, including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), play therapy, and other modalities.
- Conduct assessments and maintain thorough clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, educators, and legal professionals.
- Engage with parents to educate and support them in meeting their child's therapeutic needs.
- Offer telehealth at times, maintaining a high standard of care in virtual sessions.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Missouri (LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
- Experience in working with children and families, particularly in trauma-informed care.
- Familiarity with therapeutic interventions such as TF-CBT, play therapy, or family therapy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Comfort in using technology for telehealth services and clinical documentation.
- Bilingual abilities (preferred but not required).
