Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care emergency department. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical assessment skills, emergency nursing expertise, and the ability to manage a diverse patient population ranging from routine emergencies to critical trauma cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, prioritize, and provide emergency nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions.
- Perform triage assessments and determine appropriate levels of care.
- Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and emergency treatments as ordered.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond rapidly to changes in clinical status.
- Manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and advanced interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records.
- Adhere to evidence-based practices, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols.
- Provide compassionate care to adult and geriatric patient populations.
Requirements
Experience
- Recent Emergency Department nursing experience required.
- Experience in high-acuity acute care settings preferred.
- First-time travelers accepted.
Licensure
- Active New York Registered Nurse License required.
Certifications
- BLS Certification.
- ACLS Certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Required Clinical Skills
- IV therapy, including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV initiation/maintenance.
- Administration and management of IV vasopressors.
- CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management.
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
- Stroke, neuro-trauma, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury care.
- Adult and pediatric emergency care.
- Trauma and orthopedic emergency management.
- Triage and isolation precaution protocols.
