Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate out-patient Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to helping patients achieve their maximum functional potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other modalities as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.
- Monitor patients’ progress and document treatment sessions accurately in patient records.
- Educate patients and families on exercises, mobility techniques, and proper use of equipment.
- Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment, including equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Communicate any changes in patient condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current PTA license/certification in Virginia.
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and instructions.
- Physical stamina and ability to assist patients in mobility and exercises.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, or aquatic therapy.
