Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school in Washington Navy Yard, DC is seeking multiple Special Education Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract-to-hire opportunity focuses on supporting students in a dynamic elementary school setting with a variety of grade levels and instructional models.
Responsibilities:
- Provide inclusive and small group pull-out instruction tailored to individual student needs.
- Manage caseloads of fewer than 10 students, across grades Kindergarten through 7th grade (specific assignments include K-1st, 5th, and 6th/7th grades).
- Collaborate with other educators and staff across different buildings on the same campus.
- Deliver specialized instruction primarily focused on ELA/English, though experience in this area is desirable but not mandatory.
- Participate in onsite interviews which will include a demo lesson.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching license; flexibility for out-of-state licensed candidates will be considered.
- Experience working with special education students in inclusion settings.
- Ability to manage small group or individual pull-out sessions effectively.
- Strong munication and collaboration skills.
- mitment to a full-time onsite schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
