Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education teaching position is available for the 2025-2026 school year at a K-12 school located in Shepherd, MT. This full-time, onsite role offers the opportunity to work closely with students in grades 6-12, providing specialized instructional support to those with diverse learning and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of 8-12 students
- Foster strong relationships with students to support their academic and social-emotional growth
- Collaborate with school staff and families to promote positive student outcomes
- Apply de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, safe physical interventions in compliance with Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) training
- Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment for all learners
Qualifications and Experience:
- Montana Special Education Teacher certification is required
- Experience working with students who have mental health challenges
- Ability to complete and pass a background check
- Willingness to complete VIP certification for de-escalation and restraint protocols
- Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively manage caseload and collaborate with the school community
Position Details:
- Contract duration: August 2025 through June 2026 (school year)
- Hours of work: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- In-person position based in Shepherd, MT
