This is a hands-on leadership role focused on field troubleshooting, service estimating, crew coordination, and real-time job management.

This position supports a growing service operation and is designed to improve field efficiency, reduce leadership workload, and strengthen customer response times. Ideal candidates bring deep commercial door service/repair experience (not residential or new installs only) and are confident managing multiple active service jobs simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily field operations across 10–20 active service jobs
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting support to technicians in the field and remotely
  • Scope work and prepare service estimates and job requirements
  • Schedule and coordinate 1–2-person installation/service crews
  • Source parts, materials, and vendor support for repairs and installations
  • Ensure timely, high-quality completion of service work within scope and budget
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues quickly
  • Support compliance with ADA, fire-rated door codes, and safety standards
  • Partner with leadership during a structured 6-month onboarding/training period

Required Experience

  • ~5+ years of commercial door and gate service/repair experience
  • Hands-on expertise (not solely new installation work)
  • Strong troubleshooting ability in the field and via phone support
  • Experience managing or coordinating service workflows and schedules
  • Ability to run estimates and scope repair/service jobs independently
  • Experience with multiple commercial systems, including:
    • Automatic doors (e.g., SIG or similar)
    • Storefront doors
    • Hollow metal doors
    • Overhead/rolling doors
    • Dock equipment
    • Gates and gate operators
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent service jobs in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across most or all of the listed door and gate systems
  • Prior crew leadership or field supervision (1–2-person crews preferred)
  • Strong estimating and end-to-end job ownership experience
  • Experience sourcing parts and managing vendors independently
  • Background in high-volume commercial service environments (facilities, industrial service, etc.)
  • Familiarity with competitors such as Vortex, R&S Doors, or Industrial Door Company
  • Knowledge of ADA compliance, fire-rated assemblies, and safety regulations

Benefits

  • Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, etc.)
  • Stable and growing service operation with consistent workload
  • High-impact role with direct influence on field performance and efficiency
  • Long-term career growth potential in operations leadership
