Position Summary:

The Front Office Specialist serves as the first point of contact for patients and families, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy clinical setting.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome patient and visitors in
• Check patients in and out promptly and courteously
• Verify insurance, update demographic information, and process referrals
• Schedule appointments, and manage provider’s schedule
• Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, setup payment plans, and reconcile cash drawers
• Answer phones, manage in-basket messages, and respond to patient inquiries
• Maintain accurate patient records, assist with scanning, faxing, and handling medical forms
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations, uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of front desk experience in a medical office setting, pediatrics preferred but not required
• Bilingual preferred but not required
• Eclinical works EHR experience preferred but not required
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Positive, professional attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
