Job DescriptionJob Title: Payroll Specialist (Contract)
Location: Onsite – Bellevue, WA
Compensation: $30–$35/hour (DOE)
Contract Length: 8 months

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on an 8-month contract in Bellevue, WA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and reporting. You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly payroll for all employees with accuracy and timeliness

  • Review and verify timekeeping records, deductions, and adjustments

  • Maintain employee payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and company policies

  • Handle wage garnishments, tax withholdings, and other deductions

  • Collaborate with HR and accounting to ensure accurate reporting and recordkeeping

  • Prepare payroll reports and respond to employee payroll inquiries

  • Assist with audits and year-end reporting (W-2s, tax filings, etc.)

  • Support process improvements and ensure payroll best practices are followed

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll experience (multi-state payroll preferred)

  • Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or similar) and Microsoft Excel

  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and wage/hour laws

  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Details

  • Contract: 8 months (with possibility of extension)

  • Schedule: Full-time, onsite in Bellevue, WA

  • Pay: $30–$35/hour DOE
