Job DescriptionPosition Overview

Our organization is seeking a board-certified, board-eligible Interventional Radiologist for a full-time, permanent role within our Radiology department. This position reports directly to the Chief of Radiology Service. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated radiologist who has completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology. Candidates should be proficient in performing a wide range of general interventional procedures, including but not limited to:

  • MW ablation
  • TACE and Y-90 procedures
  • Myelograms and arthrograms
  • Lumbar punctures
  • CT-guided, ultrasound-guided, and fluoroscopy-guided biopsies
  • Vascular and non-vascular interventions
  • Diagnostic interventional exams
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic angiography and venography
  • Percutaneous biopsies
  • Central venous access procedures
  • Genitourinary procedures

Ideal candidates will also have the necessary skills to interpret all general radiology examinations and manage patients referred for radiology consultations and procedures. Collaboration with our radiology colleagues and residents from the University of Oklahoma is essential to ensure seamless care for the veterans we serve.

Academic Affiliation

This role encourages affiliation with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Our facility, located in Oklahoma City, OK, serves as the flagship for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System (OCVAHCS) and is a Joint Commission accredited, referral level 1a (high complexity) institution. The Radiology department caters to over 63,000 veterans across 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas, and is expanding its clinical services to better meet the needs of our veteran population.

Work Schedule

The work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 08:00 to 16:30, with on-call duties as necessary. Due to the presence of hospitalist services for inpatients, call responsibilities are generally light, although evening or weekend work may occasionally be required.

Eligibility and Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship is preferred; non-U.S. citizens may be considered.
  • A current, full, and unrestricted medical or surgical license in the U.S. is required.
  • Board certification in Radiology is preferred, but board eligibility may be accepted.
  • Additional board certification in Internal Medicine is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $400,000 per year. A sign-on bonus is available, along with the potential for an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000. Benefits include:

  • Federal Retirement Plan through the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), which includes:

  • Eligibility for the Education Debt Repayment Program (EDRP)
  • Malpractice coverage with tail protection
  • Recruitment and relocation incentives
  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days annually, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and up to 5 days for CME
  • Comprehensive insurance options including health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
