Position Summary

Under the direction of the Employment Services Manager, the Disability Employment Specialist will support individuals in identifying career goals, developing job skills, and securing meaningful employment. This role involves direct client support, job development, and building relationships with employers in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct vocational assessments to evaluate goals, work history, skills, and interests
  • Provide job readiness training, including resume building, mock interviews, and soft skills development
  • Deliver on-the-job coaching and ongoing support at client worksites
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, community partners, and stakeholders
  • Identify and create employment opportunities that align with both client strengths and employer needs
  • Assist clients with job placement and retention, with a goal of placing at least 5 individuals per month
  • Transport clients to job sites, training, and community activities as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with program and regulatory requirements
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and community events
  • Communicate regularly with the Employment Services Manager

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage employers and community partners
  • Comfortable with outreach, including cold calling, networking events, and community presentations
  • Ability to research and connect clients with local employment resources
  • Passion for supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving independence and employment
  • Willingness to transport clients using personal vehicle

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance required
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass State background check and FBI clearance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
