Role Description
This is a part-time, 4 days a week, on-site role for an Optician/Optical Technician located in Burbank, CA. We are an upscale boutique optometric office focusing on primary care and dry eye. The responsibilities include fitting and dispensing glasses and contact lenses, assisting clients in selecting eyewear, and performing repairs or adjustments as needed. You will also assist with scheduling appointments, conducting preliminary eye exam tests, verifying insurance eligibility, insurance billing, various office work and ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the patient experience. Collaboration with optometrists and other team members is integral to this role, along with maintaining accurate records of patient interactions and inventory. Training on daily operations will be provided.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in optics and optometry-related tasks, including familiarity with lens types, eyewear fitting, and eye exam procedures
- Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to assist clients in selecting appropriate eyewear and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Strong communication, teamwork abilities, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage inventory and keep records accurately
- Prior experience in an optometric or optical setting is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as an optician is a plus
