Job Summary
The Restaurant Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving team performance. This role helps lead front-of-house and back-of-house teams, manage scheduling and staffing, maintain operational standards, and assist in achieving financial and service goals in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing all daily restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house coordination
  • Support hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of service and support staff
  • Maintain high service standards and ensure consistent execution across all dining areas
  • Partner with the General Manager on labor management, payroll, and operational cost control
  • Supervise dining room operations during peak service times and special events
  • Address guest concerns professionally and promptly to ensure satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
  • Assist with inventory management, purchasing, and vendor coordination
  • Monitor operational reports and KPIs, helping to implement improvements as needed
  • Act as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the General Manager

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of restaurant or hospitality management experience, preferably in an upscale or full-service dining environment
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and guest-relations abilities
  • Knowledge of labor management, scheduling, and cost control practices
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with private events, banquet operations, or high-volume service
  • Strong floor presence and service recovery skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on professionalism and consistency
  • Ability to balance operational demands with personalized guest service
