Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Requirements

  • Active New York State RN License required
  • Minimum Emergency Room experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • NIHSS certification must be valid at submission

Required Certifications

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS

Schedule

  • 3x12 Hour Shifts
  • Mid/Night Rotation:
    • 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
    • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required, as needed

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced adult emergency department. The ideal candidate will be skilled in emergency assessment, triage, critical care interventions, trauma management, and stabilization of patients presenting with a wide range of acute and emergent conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity
  • Triage and manage adult emergency patients with medical, surgical, neurological, cardiac, and traumatic conditions
  • Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and vasopressors
  • Initiate and maintain peripheral and central intravenous access
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
  • Manage patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator support
  • Provide emergency care for stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and orthopedic trauma
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Follow infection prevention, isolation, and patient safety protocols
