Description
Kemco Aerospace is seeking an ambitious, high-energy Controller to assist our business with all financial matters for our St. Louis, MO site, as detailed below. Crestview Aerospace/Kemco Aerospace is a manufacturer of complex assemblies and precision components for use in a wide range of aerospace and defense applications. Our company works closely with large aircraft and weapon systems OEMs, such as Boeing Defense, Bell, RTX/Collins Aerospace, Northrop Grumman and several others. Crestview Aerospace provides key assemblies for many in-service platforms (H-47, V-22, F-35, F-15, F-16, F-18, KC-135, E-2, and weapon systems such as Harpoon and SLAM-ER. Crestview Aerospace is comprised of two (2) manufacturing sites, with operations in St. Louis, Missouri and Crestview, FL, and employs approximately 350 professionals.
Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Cost Accounting Management
- Financial Statements/Management – ensure integrity of actual reported results
- Oversee the monthly accounting closing process
- Reviews/Prepares external financial reporting and Corporate reporting requirements on a quarterly and annual basis
- Primary Crestview contact and liaison with the external auditors including governmental auditors
- Reviews balance sheet accounts and reviews other accounting reconciliation statements as necessary
- Participates in the preparation of budgets and rates as necessary; active team member in establishing rate structure within the system
- Works with Government Compliance manager to proactively address Government audit findings
- Reviews of journal entries as necessary
- Ensures that adequate supporting records are maintained for financial statements
- Manages monthly and quarterly financial statement analytical analysis to ensure balances are properly stated
- Knowledge of the FAR and governmental cost accounting standards including knowledge of ICE and government cost and pricing standards
- Responsible for maintaining an effective internal control environment and continuous improvement of processes and internal controls
- Ensures accuracy of all financial reports distributed to management and outside parties
- Assists preparation of annual budgeting process
- Maintain and establish accounting policies and procedures, communicate established policies to employees and ensure compliance
- Participates with management in establishing corporate strategic plans and objectives in the areas of finance and accounting
- Evaluates the efficiency of operations within the Accounting Department and recommends appropriate changes
- Manage the development process of the Controllership team to drive employee satisfaction and engagement
Professional Requirements, Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree with minimum of 8-10 years of experience; Master's degree preferred
- Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers
- Experience supporting senior leaders with accurate, timely financial information
- Strong leadership skills and willingness to embrace change
- Team player with ability to influence and motivate others to support optimize program financial performance
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- Experience using accounting systems and Microsoft Office products, primarily Excel
- Hands-on, Self-Starter with ability to multi-task and work effectively across departments and with internal and external customers
- Experience with manufacturing ERP and MRP systems
Work Environment:
- Primarily works in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery and production equipment
- Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials
- May involve occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations
